The virtual launch meeting for the ‘Your Best Version’ project brought together the four partners: the coordinator, Colegio Córdoba S.C.A. Duque de Rivas, the EI expert Poderío Training & Research, the Romanian NGO Friends of Romanian Families (FORC), and Liceul Teoretic George Moroianu.

The session began with an introduction of the partners and an overview of the project, reinforcing the commitment to use Emotional Intelligence to combat the social exclusion of adolescents. A key point was the planning of Activity 2: Podcast and complementary guides, where tasks, roles, and deadlines for its development were defined. Subsequently, the dates for transnational mobility were set: Brașov, Romania, will host the first mobility in June 2025, and Córdoba, Spain, the second in November 2025.

Finally, aspects of visibility and management were addressed, discussing the logo design, the dissemination strategy through the website and social networks, and the management, agreement and reporting procedures to ensure an organised start in accordance with Erasmus+ regulations.

Theoretical modules and implementation guide

During this activity, the partners worked on the 12 areas identified as key to the socio-emotional development of young people at risk of social exclusion.

To this end, we developed training modules in podcast format, accompanied by a complementary guide with additional information on the topic. Both were edited in English and translated to Spanish and Romanian

Exploring Emotional Education in Romania

The first mobility of ‘Your Best Version’ was successfully held in Brașov, Romania, over three days, as an intensive training activity. Six students from each partner school and an expert trainer from Poderío Training & Research and Friends of Romanian Families (FORC) participated. The essence of the activity focused on dynamics and practical exercises based on the Emotional Intelligence modules developed previously.

The young people worked on fundamental areas to tackle exclusion, such as Self-esteem and Self-awareness, Resilience and Self-regulation, and social skills such as Empathy and Assertiveness. The meeting was a great success, not only because of the effectiveness of the content in providing emotional tools, but also because it served to bring the transnational team together, creating an atmosphere of trust and understanding that significantly advanced the project’s objectives.

Toolkit for adolescents at risk of exclusion

The next phase of the ‘Your Best Self’ project focuses on the creation of tangible content, developing a total of 24 practical tools. These tools will be designed to address twelve fundamental areas of Emotional Intelligence and social skills, with two specific tools for each area (for example, two for Self-Esteem, two for Empathy, two for Conflict Resolution, etc.).

This comprehensive set includes key areas such as Resilience, Self-Awareness, Emotional Regulation, and Motivation. Development is carried out in close collaboration between experts from FORC and Poderío Training & Research, with the participation of the two educational partners in the pilot phase, ensuring that the resources are innovative and pedagogically sound. Once their creation is complete, the critical testing phase will begin, where these 24 tools will be tested and validated by students and teachers in partner schools in Romania and Spain, ensuring their direct effectiveness in combating social exclusion.

In addition, these tools formed the basis of the second LTT of our project, which was held in Córdoba (Spain) and hosted by our coordinator, Colegio Córdoba.

Learning, Teaching, Training

The LTT (Learning, Teaching, Training) mobility in Córdoba represented the practical heart of the project, serving as the stage where the 24 tools designed in the previous phase came to life. Over three intense days, students from Liceul George Moroianu and Colegio Córdoba, together with their teachers and trainers from FORC and Poderío T&R, worked collaboratively to strengthen their socio-emotional skills.

Through group dynamics and emotional intelligence exercises, participants validated the effectiveness of the resources created to improve self-esteem and resilience. This pedagogical experience was enriched by a unique cultural immersion, during which the group discovered the fascinating history, heritage, and gastronomy of Córdoba, reinforcing bonds of friendship and European cooperation in an inspiring setting.

Final Conference

The final conference of the Your Best Version project, held at Colegio Córdoba, served as the crowning achievement for an initiative centered on youth empowerment. The event brought together more than 60 attendees, highlighting the leading role of the students, who shared moving testimonials on how coaching tools have transformed their self-perception and academic motivation. These young participants received their certificates of participation in a ceremony that validated their personal growth and commitment to excellence.

The project’s success was made possible by the synergy of a diverse international consortium:

  • Poderío T&R (Spain): Contributed its innovative methodology in social skills training and resilience.
  • FORC (Poland): Led the focus on transversal competencies and adaptability in rapidly changing environments.
  • Liceul George Moroianu (Romania): Facilitated practical implementation within the school setting, enriching the project with its extensive teaching experience.

The day concluded with speeches from all partners, who emphasized the lasting impact of the materials created, ending the event with an emotional closing featuring Spanish music that symbolized the unity and shared success of this European network
